KAZstudio – Magic that Brings Imagination to Life
KAZstudio, part of the Trefl Group, is a leading Polish film studio specializing in stop-motion animation. Founded in 2013 in Gdynia by Kazimierz Wierzbicki, the studio focuses on creating family-oriented animations, particularly aimed at preschool-aged children.
Productions Acclaimed in Poland and Worldwide
The studio’s most important projects include the television series The Treflik Family and its spin-off for younger audiences, Babies and the Bear. These animations are directed by acclaimed filmmaker Marek Skrobecki, known for productions such as Ichthys, Danny Boy, and the Oscar-winning animated film Peter and the Wolf. In Poland alone, the official Treflik Family YouTube channel has reached 25 million views. In November 2024, the studio’s first feature film, Treflix: Bubble Trouble, had its world premiere.
From Animation to Post-Production
KAZstudio brings together a team of talented animators, set and puppet artists, lighting technicians, camera operators, and a professional post-production department. Since 2022, KAZstudio has expanded its resources with a dedicated 2D/3D animation team. Today, the studio operates 11 small and 1 large film set, enabling the production of scenes on extensive stage designs, as well as its own dubbing studio.
Not Only Series
In addition to producing animated series, KAZstudio also creates commercial spots. The studio’s unique productions contribute to the growth of the Polish animation industry in the global market.

Studio Founder
The founder of the studio, who, although not directly involved in creating animations, has significantly contributed to the development of the Polish animation industry through his vision and dedication.
Alicja Sowa
CEO
She gained her first professional experience in the hospitality industry in Italy and Greece. After returning to Poland, she worked at the trade publishing house Migut Media, and later co-founded an event company, organizing conferences and workshops for the media, telecommunications, and energy sectors. After several years, she changed her career path, moving into consulting for the IT sector and training activities at Inspire, where she supported the development of managerial staff. A few years ago, she became involved with The Treflik Family, which grew into her passion and motivation to take on a role in Trefl’s Original Licensing department. She now serves as Director of Original Licensing as well as President of KAZstudio, treating the running of the film studio as her true calling.
Grzegorz Handzlik
Director
Director, animator, and producer, involved in animation since 1975. Co-creator of the legendary animated series Bolek and Lolek, co-founder of Hanna-Barbera Poland – the first branch of the American studio in Central and Eastern Europe – and founder of Orange animation studio, where he produced 600 episodes of animated series and 7 feature films. He was the producer of, among others, the film King Matt the First and the adventure series Mr. Toti. His tremendous contribution to the development of Polish animation laid the foundation for future generations of creators. He has been awarded the European Medal twice for his co-productions.
Marek Skrobecki
Film Director
Director known for works such as Ichthys, Danny Boy, and the Oscar-winning Peter and the Wolf. Skrobecki directs the studio’s productions, including the series The Treflik Family and Babies and the Bear, bringing his experience and artistic mastery to these projects. He is currently the lead director of the festival production Don Quixote.
Michał Bystry
Head of the Studio
Project manager with extensive experience in the film and television industry. He has worked on major Polish films and series for Netflix, HBO, and TVN, collaborating with Papaya Films and Endemol Shine. A graduate of the Warsaw Film School, he is responsible for producing KAZstudio’s latest films and series, overseeing every stage of the process.
Anna Dobrowodzka
Film Editor
Film editor and visual artist. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and the Polish National Film School in Łódź, where she earned her master’s degree in film editing. She has been collaborating with KAZstudio for years, editing and color grading all productions featuring the Treflix characters. She values creative collaboration with directors and ensures that every story she works on comes alive in the editing room—thanks to her magical touch.
Magdalena Talar
Head Writer
She holds multiple roles within the Trefl Group, working as Head Writer at KAZstudio and Editor-in-Chief at Trefl Publishing. Previously, she was an editor of children’s books at Znak Publishing. She has an academic background in French philology, theater studies, and translation. A mother of two, she is passionate about all things creative, warm, and imaginative—qualities she brings into every new KAZstudio production.
